Massive 8 vehicle pileup at Broadway and Commercial Drive

At least eight vehicles have crashed on Broadway, just east of where the street intersects with Commercial Drive.

The crash occurred after 12:30 p.m. and is resulting in delays for those traveling in the area and is impacting bus service. The pileup is next to the loading bays of the 99 B-Line bus and 9 UBC trolley.

According to initial Vancouver Police reports on the cause of the crash, a truck lost its brakes as it approached the line of vehicles.
