A FREE Mexican market is coming to Robson Square this weekend

A one-day celebration of all the music, culture, food, and drink of Mexico is returning to the heart of Vancouver for the second time.

Market Mexico drew crowds upwards of 20,000 people in its inaugural year, and this time around organizers expect turnout to be similar, if not bigger.

This FREE experience is coming next month on September 15 from 11:30 am to 8 pm, and it will take place in the lower level of Robson Square downtown.

Meant to simulate the experience of being in one of Mexico’s bustling community marketplaces, the event will offer attendees eats like tacos, tortas, and elotes (Mexican corn), horchata, pastries, and churros, and there will even be a licensed cantina running until late (think aguas frescas, agave spirits, and micheladas).

Patrons can also look forward to shopping, music, and a Grito de Independencia, a traditional ceremony marking Mexican Independence Day.
