A store in Chilliwack that allegedly sells marijuana was raided by the RCMP on Tuesday evening, according to the Fraser Valley Regional Detachment.

The raid happened at about 5:20 p.m. after police had spent several weeks gathering evidence and surveilling the store in the 46000 block of 5th Avenue in Chilliwack. Drugs believed to be marijuana, store records, and cash were seized.

“Chilliwack CRU officers are continuing to pursue their CDSA investigation of the transactions conducted by the store’s proprietors.  After a thorough investigation has been completed, the evidence collected will be reviewed by investigators to determine whether police will be submitting all circumstances of the investigation in a report to Federal Crown Counsel for their assessment of Controlled Drug and Substance Act charges,” says Corporal Mike Rail in a statement.

When asked if a “marijuana sales outlet” was the same thing as a dispensary, which are plentiful in Vancouver, media relations officer Corporal Mike Rail refused to comment.

Anyone with additional information should contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
