Man who taught piano for 30 years charged with sexual assault

A 65-year old Vancouver piano teacher has been charged with sexual assault.

Yung Ping David Chen has been teaching piano in his Vancouver residence basement for more than 30 years. He was arrested in December 2013 after allegations of sexual assault came forward.

The Vancouver Police Department has kept the case on the down low given that the victims involved are underage. The victims’ identities are protected by a publication ban – details on the allegations are limited.

Chen is no longer in custody, however, he is not permitted to have contact with anyone under 18 years of age.
