Man who allegedly stalked, attacked lesbian couple in September facing charges

A 45-year old Burnaby man is now facing charges in the alleged assault of a lesbian couple on September 18, 2013.

The two women were getting off a bus at the intersection of Commercial Drive and East Hastings Street shortly after 6:00 p.m. when they were assaulted. The man fled the scene after passersby chased him off and assisted the victims.

Prior to the confrontation, CCTV footage captured the man on the bus who became disturbed at the sight of the two women exchanging a kiss.

Andrew Joseph Walko is charged with assault and assault causing bodily harm. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 17th at 1:30 p.m. at 222 Main Street.
