Man wanted for sexual assaults of high-school girls in Delta

On January 10, 2014 at 8:00 a.m., the Delta Police responded to a report of a sexual assault that had just occurred in the Sunshine Hills area of North Delta.

Upon arrival, Delta Police learned that at approximately 8:00 a.m. this morning two female grade 8 students were walking to school in the Sunshine Hills area of North Delta.

The two females entered a footpath and were followed by a male into the pathway. The male approached the females from behind and sexually assaulted one of them.

A male believed to be the same male then sexually assaulted another female grade 9 student as he was fleeing from the area.

The initial suspect description in both cases is:

  • Caucasian male
  • In his 40’s
  • Long blond hair
  • Scruffy blond beard
  • Wearing a black leather jacket, jeans, black and white toque with a hint of red.

Delta Police are in the early stages of the investigation of these assaults.  Police have been unsuccessful in locating the suspect at this time and the investigation continues.

Delta Police reminds parents to talk to your children with the following safety tips:

  • Always walk in groups
  • Be aware of your surroundings at all times – do not wear headphones or immerse yourself in music players
  • If you see anyone you believe to be suspicious call the police or an adult
