Man wanted for flashing himself to teenage girls at Kitsilano

Police want the public to be aware of an incident in the Kitsilano area of Vancouver where a man exposed himself to two young girls.

On April 7, at about 3:30 p.m., the 12- and 13-year-old girls were walking on Maple Street near West 18th Avenue when they were approached by the man. When he exposed himself to them, the girls ran away and informed their parents.

Police were called, but no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.

“The incident is obviously very disturbing,” says Vancouver Police Constable Brian Montague. “Children being targeted and potential escalation in criminal behaviour with any sexual offender is always a concern.”

Investigators are looking for a man described as having a pale brown or tanned skin complexion, late 20s or early 30s, 5’9″ to 6′ tall, with a medium build. He was clean-shaven with short brown hair.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the VPD Sex Crimes Unit at (604) 717-2634 or Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 222-8477.
