The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating a fatal overnight shooting near Brentwood Mall in Burnaby.
Witnesses told Vancity Buzz five men were seen on the street next to two parked vehicles at the 2000 block of Rosser Avenue near Lougheed Highway. Gunshots were heard at approximately 10:30 p.m. and the shooter fled in one of the vehicles with the driver.
One male was killed instantly, lying dead next to the remaining parked car.
Two men who may have been associated with the victim stayed at the scene and were later taken into Burnaby RCMP custody.
