Dec 20 2017, 1:05 am

RCMP in Surrey are investigating yet another shooting in the municipality.

The incident occurred at approximately midnight near the intersection of 132 Street and 113B Avenue within the Whalley area. Police were called to the scene by a witness, who saw a group of men violently assaulting a man.

Before police could arrive to the scene, a vehicle arrived to pick up the man who was injured by the assault. As the driver left the scene, he apparently fired a gun at the witness, but fortunately he was not hit by the shot.

Later on during the early morning hours, police were able to track the suspect vehicle, which was parked at a residence located about three kilometres away. Three people were arrested at the residence, and the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment.

The investigation into the incident is in its early stages. Anyone with helpful information for investigators is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers’ anonymous hotline at 1-800-222-8477.
