Man falls to death at Stanley Park

Dec 19 2017, 11:20 pm

A man was found dead in Stanley Park early Sunday morning.

Police believe the man had attended an all-night rave party held in a “secluded area of Stanley Park” near Merilees Trail, early Sunday morning.

At around 4:20 a.m., the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) were informed about the body of a 23-year-old man. The body was found by the seawall by Siwash Rock, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are not sure if drugs or alcohol were involved, and believe falling to his death off a cliff was accidental. The investigation is still at its early stages and the VPD is working alongside BC Coroners Service to confirm the cause of death.

The seawall is currently closed off due to the investigation.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incidents or the events leading up to it to contact the VPD.
