Man dies following reported pit bull attack inside BC home

A man is dead after suffering through an attack by a pit bull at a residence in Kamloops.

According to police, on June 29, at 11:45 am, Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of a dog attack at a home in the 900 block of Singh Street.

“People in the house state that a pit bull owned by a resident attacked a man who was visiting,” law enforcement said in a statement. “Subsequently, the man died of his injuries.”

At 2 pm, police reported the dog was secured on the deck of the residence and conservation officers had arrived to sedate the animal.

After this, the dog will be euthanized.

The BC Coroners Service is also investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic death, and stated they will not be releasing the name of the victim at this time.
