Man dead, woman in hospital after "family dispute" in Maple Ridge: RCMP

A “family dispute” in Maple Ridge has left one man dead and a woman in the hospital.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night at approximately 11 pm, according to the Ridge Meadows RCMP. Police officers responded to a call of a “family dispute” that occurred on the 22800 blocks of Nelson Court.

Upon arrival, frontline officers found a woman “suffering from significant injuries,” and a man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP say that one man was arrested on the scene and remains in police custody.

The woman was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Integrated Homicide and Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation and will be working with Ridge Meadows RCMP.

Police say that this is “an isolated incident” and that there’s no further threat to the public.
