North Vancouver RCMP have finally nabbed the suspect accused of slashing over 180 tires on December 4, 2014, and a litany of other crimes.

Shane Nendick, 33 years old, has been charged for a series of criminal offences in North Vancouver that occurred between December 2014 and January 2015.

Nendick is being charged with mischief for allegedly slashing over 180 tires between Capilano University and Park & Tilford Gardens overnight on December 4, 2014. He is also being charged with Arson and Break and Enter for allegedly breaking into Capilano University on January 2, 2015, and started a fire in the library.

He is also being charged for breaking into a gas station on January 10, 2015.

“Our officers worked diligently by committing numerous hours and resources to this investigation. Their hard work has paid off,” said Insp. Randy Marquardt with the North Vancouver RCMP. “The RCMP is committed to providing safe streets and communities to all citizens of North Vancouver.”

The ongoing investigation has been in the works for over a year. Images of a then unidentified Nendick were released last January when the RCMP asked the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

Nendick is currently in custody and will next appear in court on February 12, 2016.
