Don’t you feel good when you buy handmade products?
You know that warm fuzzy feeling you get? Well that’s because you’re helping the designer pursue their passion.
And there are tons of vendors from all over Canada coming to Vancouver this week to sell their handmade wares at the PNE Forum’s Make It! show.
The unique event is kicking off on Friday, April 21 and runs until Sunday, April 23. And you’ll be able to shop from over two hundred vendors selling beautiful items made by hand, with love.
Returning to the PNE for its second year, Make It! is set to be an unparalleled shopping experience featuring artists, crafters, and designers.
You’ll be able to shop categories like art, jewellery, fashion, babies/kids, and home decor – all while listening to some good music being pumped around the Forum.
There will also be plenty of food trucks and a beer garden on site. So yeah, you could say it’s better than your average craft show.
The biannual show was founded in 2008 in Edmonton, and it now takes place in Vancouver, and Calgary, too. With spring and holiday shows attracting over 60,000 shoppers annually, it has grown to become one of the most popular craft fairs in Canada.
“Shoppers are increasingly conscious of buying local, ethically made goods and Make It provides a fun environment to do just that. When you buy handmade directly from the crafter you can feel the passion that goes into each product, and you are supporting someone’s dream.
“Our mission is to not only encourage conscious consumers, but to empower Canadian artists and entrepreneurs to succeed,” says Founder of the show, Jenna Herbut.
Tickets can be purchased at the door, so you don’t need to arrange buying them in advance. Go along and check out all the one-of-a kind products on offer, it’s the perfect way to spend a weekend day.
