Major power outage in East Vancouver

A large swath of an East Vancouver neighbourhood is in the dark this evening.

More than 3,000 B.C. Hydro customers, about 10,000 residents, in the Champlain Heights neighbourhood are affected by a power outage in the area. The outage began just after 11 p.m. Wednesday evening.

The affected zone is south of East 46th Avenue, west of Boundary Road, east of Inverness Street and North of Ancaster Crescent.

B.C. Hydro crews are investigating. There is no word on cause or when power will be fully restored.
