Major gas leak near Vancouver Art Gallery in downtown

The downtown Vancouver intersections of West Georgia between Hornby and Howe streets because of a natural gas leak.

Firefighters say it’s fairly large but because the gas dissipates quickly, but people are not in danger.

It will likely be noon before the roads are open again.

Fortis BC was on scene to shut off the supply.

• UPDATE: The area will reopen by 1:30 p.m.
