Dec 19 2017, 11:16 pm

SkyTrain’s Expo Line is experiencing major delays during the morning rush hour due to a track switch issue in the Surrey section.

The track issue at Gateway Station was first reported at 7:15 a.m. No trains are running between King George and Gateway stations; trains are turning around at Scott Road Station and returning to the New Westminster side of the river.

The situation has prompted TransLink to deploy a bus bridge between the affected Surrey stations as “there will be significant SkyTrain delays,” according to Transit Police.

96 B-Line service has been temporarily canceled as its articulated buses have been diverted to assist with the SkyTrain station bus bridge.

Millennium Line service is not affected.

UPDATE at 8:50 a.m. – Regular SkyTrain service has resumed, but riders should still expect some delays until the system returns to its normal train schedule.
