Major Canada Line delays due to medical emergency

Dec 20 2017, 12:50 am

There are systemwide delays on the SkyTrain Canada Line this evening due to a major medical emergency at Olympic Village Station.

The service disruption began at approximately 8:30 p.m. Over a dozen emergency vehicles are parked outside the station to respond to the incident.

According to Transit Police, all trains from the Brighouse and YVR Airport terminuses will stop at King Eward Station and then turn back to head southbound again.

There will be a single shuttle train operating between King Edward and Waterfront stations on the southbound tracks.

It is not known when normal train service will resume. If you need to use the Canada Line this evening, please allow for extra travel time or use an alternate route.

  • UPDATE at 9:30 p.m. – A woman has been taken to hospital for unknown serious injuries. Regular service is expected to resume at approximately 10:00 p.m., although it will take more time for train service to pick up to regular scheduled frequencies.
