MacLure’s Cabs is the oldest cab company in Vancouver (over 100 years) but the first to adopt a text messaging service for patrons needing a cab. By simply texting “222 222” including the rider’s name, pick-up location and destination, a cab will be sent as quickly as possible. Once a text is received by MacLure’s, an auto reply is sent confirming receipt and when to expect the cab to arrive.
When you’re in a noisy venue, too hammered to be coherent, or just want to avoid the dispatch process, this is the perfect method for you.
“MacLure’s is happy to be ahead of the curve on this” stated company President Sucha Poonia, “the technology has been around for a while, but no other cab company in BC offers this service.”
This is welcome news to Vancouverites looking for improved taxi services, especially on those busy Friday/Saturday nights.
