Macaron Day 2012 Arrives in Vancouver on March 20!

Dec 19 2017, 1:29 pm

This year will be Vancouver’s first foray into Macaron Day. Not to be confused with Macaroons, Macarons have become wildly popular in Vancouver and Thierry Chocolaterie Patisserie Cafe and French Made Baking are the local hot spots for these delectable treats!

Traditionally in France, March 20th is known as “le Jour du Macaron” (Macaron Day). Initiated by famous pastry chef Pierre Hermé, it is now celebrated worldwide and it finally touches down in Vancouver.

On this specific day, everyone that visits French Made Baking receives a free macaron! No need to purchase anything or even donate, but I suggest you donate a little something, something. All the money raised on that day will go to support BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Also on March 20, Thierry Chocolaterie Pâtisserie Café will celebrate Macaron Day by donating 10% of all macaron sales made that day to the food-sustainability charity Growing Chefs! Chefs for Children’s Urban Agriculture.

So on March 20th head on over to  Thierry Chocolaterie Pâtisserie Café and/or French Made Baking (on 81 Kingsway) to get your Macaron fix.
