DH Vancouver Staff May 30, 2016 3:32 pm

A body that was found in Lynn Canyon yesterday morning has been identified as a man who has been missing for nearly two weeks.

Thirty-four-year-old Jastinder Athwal went missing on May 19. The North Vancouver RCMP notified the public on May 26 and a missing person investigation was opened.

On Sunday, May 29, just before 9 a.m., Athwal’s body was found in Lynn Creek.

While the cause of death is unknown, the Integrated Homicide investigation Team and the North Vancouver RCMP are investigating. Athwal’s death might be ruled a homicide, but an autopsy will need to be conducted before they can confirm the cause of death.

If anyone has information about Athwal in the days leading up to his death, IHIT is asking that you give them at a call at 1-877-551-4448 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
