Luongo and Hamhuis invited to Canada Hockey Team orientation camp

Hockey Canada has invited 47 players to Canada’s National Men’s Hockey Team orientation camp. Among them are our very own Roberto Luongo and Dan Hamhuis.

The orientation camp is set to be held from August 25 to 28 in Calgary. Players will compete against fellow countrymen to earn a spot on the national team, representing Canada at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics to be held next February.

Hamhuis looks to join Luongo in the red and white for the first time at the Olympics. He has previously played for Canada at the World Championships and World Junior Championships.

  • Karl Alzner – Defense for Washington Capitals, hometown Burnaby
  • Dan Hamhuis – Defense for Vancouver Canucks, hometown Smithers
  • Duncan Keith – Defense for Chicago Blackhawks, hometown Penticton
  • Brent Seabrook – Defense for Chicago Blackhawks, hometown Tsawwassen
  • Shea Weber – Defense for Nashville Predators, hometown Sicamous
  • Andrew Ladd – Forward for Winnipeg Jets, hometown Maple Ridge
  • Milan Lucic – Forward for Boston Bruins, hometown Vancouver
