lululemon SeaWheeze 2013 half-marathon

lululemon’s SeaWheeze half-marathon is 21.1km of sea, sun and smiles wrapped up in a weekend of fun. It’s happening this Friday and Saturday and it will offer a unique buffet of photo and activity opportunities, ranging from 10,000 participants running through a log cabin, to sunset yoga on Kits Beach, to signing mermaids, to a music performance by Xavier Rudd in Stanley Park.

 

Friday, August 9, 2013:

o   8am-9pm: SeaWheeze store featuring 28,000 square feet of exclusive lululemon product at the Vancouver Convention Centre (also open all-day Saturday)

o   12pm-1pm: Nooner yoga class at Jack Poole Plaza open to both runners and the community

o   7:30pm- 8:30pm: Sunset yoga session on Kitsilano beach, available for race participants and the public

 

Saturday, August 10, 2013 (Race Day)

o   7am-12pm: Race starts at 7am will conclude by 12pm. Start and finish line at the Vancouver Convention Centre on West Cordova & Thurlow Street (near Jack Poole Plaza).

o   7am- 11am: The cheer station located outside lululemon offices (1818 Cornwall) offers face painting, music, free breakfast and family fun

o   4:30pm- 10:30pm:  SeaWheeze Sunset Festival at Brockton Oval in Stanley Park featuring sunset yoga with Ryan Leir and a live concert by Passenger, follow the sun and Xavier Rudd. Open to all race participants, volunteers, and community ticket holders

 

21.1 km of photo ops you will only catch at a lululemon half-marathon:

o   A massive (the world’s largest!) solar powered tricycle traversing down Pacific Boulevard

o   Cheering mermaids sunbathing on the shores of Waterpark Beach

o   Circus acrobats performing on the rocks of George Wainborn Park

o   Vancouver-based percussion group, Sambata, drumming and dancing at the Base of Lions Gate Bridge

o   A Jumping Dragon leaping along the Seawall (after Devonian)

 

While you’re at the Vancouver Convention Centre this weekend, be sure to also check out the Pokemon World Championships. It’s also a FREE event with much to see and do!
