The highly anticipated lululemon athletica flagship store celebrated its opening on August 19 at Robson and Burrard, another high-profile addition to the street corner after the arrival of Victoria’s Secret in 2013.

At 4,500 sq.-feet, the store will boast a full range of their products for both men and women. This time, there’s a special section for the guys that will feature custom-made shorts – The Joinery.

The new flagship was built keeping it’s West Coast roots in mind. The store’s blog quotes the atmosphere as being able to “evoke the feeling of being in a Pacific Northwest rainforest, and change room art that shows Vancouver as if in a dream.”

The glittering opening party cocktail on August 19 featured wine-pouring acrobats, celebrities such as Vancouver Canucks goalie Jacob Markstrom with appearances by founder Chip Wilson himself and lululemon executive vice-president and CEO. The celebration continued on August 21 with Coastal Om, a mass outdoor yoga street party. Part of Robson Street was shut down from 6pm-10pm as 500 people gathered together for complimentary yoga.

Take a look at how lululemon’s opening created a buzz on social media throughout the week.
