The holidays were a busy time for everyone and it was easy to get caught up in all the obligations of the season. Lululemon dedicated its annual holiday campaign to helping people set aside these distractions and focus on being present with the ones they love. This global campaign launched in late November and has shown up in different ways across stores and online. To learn more, check out the campaign video here.

Lululemon created various experiences to bring this campaign to life. They partnered with Earls to share the message that the holidays are about living in the moment and being fully present. These two Vancouver-bred companies worked together to host an experience for restaurant guests that would remind them of the #givepresence message.

Three Earls locations (Fir, Yaletown and Whistler) were provided with phone “lock boxes.” Earls managers watched for guests who were actively on their phones and had servers ask if they would be willing to lock up their phones and enjoy their meals without any distractions. Those that agreed to have their phones locked up were treated to dinner, on Lululemon!

This activation took place over Thursday and Friday evening, the week before Christmas. Many Earls-goers had the opportunity to enjoy a free meal and spend some quality time with friends and family. A guest at the Whistler location spoke to how amazing it was to have some time away from their phone:

At the end of our time at Earls we hardly noticed they were gone, and it was actually quite a nice feeling, one which allowed us to share more quality time with one another! When the bartender brought over the bill she told us that the “small gift” from lululemon was that they were actually taking care of our entire bill! We were shocked! Not only did lulu give us the opportunity to spend more quality time with one another, but rewarded us for it as well, and for this we are very thankful!”
