Today, word came out that Luca Sbisa was being put on IR after suffering what looks to be a foot injury, presumably from the Coyotes game.
Sbisa out for awhile. He smashed his stick when he came off the ice following win in PHX, perhaps injury happened late in game.

Luca Sbisa is a player that divides the fanbase with his playing style, so the more cold hearted out there might celebrate the news, but you never want to see a guy miss games due to injury. Sbisa was just coming off of his first Sportsnet “First Star of the Night” award as well.
So what does this mean for Luca and the Canucks?
Well for Sbisa, it means he has to sit out at least seven days of hockey, as per the injured reserve list rules. Considering he is currently fitted with the latest fashion in walking boots, he will most likely miss more than seven days. The good news for Luca is that he can still travel with the club should the team allow it, so he can still eat those delicious pre-practice meals.
As for the Canucks, there was speculation that newly called up Utica Comets captain Alex Biega might draw in, but Hamhuis confirmed he is good to go.
Hamhuis says he is playing tonight. Feels 100%. Sbisa to IR. #Canucks

Not that Yannick Weber wants to see a teammate get injured, but this is good news for Weber in the sense that it should secure his spot in the lineup.
It should also be interesting to see if the Canucks fare better without Sbisa patrolling the back end, providing more fuel for the endless fire that is known as “Luca Sbisa Internet Discussions.”
