You can get married for free at Robson Square next week

Feb 3 2018, 7:10 am

It’s almost the most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day and love is in the air – or rather it’s Love In the Square.

If you haven’t found the right gift yet, why not confess your undying love and marry your beloved in front of onlookers in the middle of Vancouver?

For the fourth year in a row, Pop Up Weddings will be offering lovebirds the chance to elope for free in Robson Square on February 11 from 11 am to 3 pm.

The square itself will be decorated with wedding arches and flowers, and there will also be photographers available to capture the special day.

The event is first-come, first-served but organizers do their best to see to it that everyone that wants to say “I do” gets a chance to do so.

Registration for the event starts at 10 am and couples will be given a ceremony time between 11 am and 3 pm. A properly filled-out marriage license and a $20 registration fee is required as well.

All fees are donated to the Vancouver Food Bank.

Last year, 77 couples tied the knot and $1,375 was raised for the food bank.
