Well it’s officially freezing now, but do you have the right boots for winter, ladies?

We’ve taken all the guesswork out of your boot-buying, just in time for your holiday wish-list! From the flat boot to the over-the-knee boot, we’ve got all the major styles from this season covered.

The Flat Boot

Splurge: Stuart Weitzman 5050

This boot is definitely a fashion icon. It’s totally gorgeous, looks fabulous with pretty much anything from skinny jeans to a wrap dress. These beauties will be the only thing you will want to wear on the rainiest of Vancouver days.

This boot comes in a variety of different colours and finishes, so you can pretty much get a pair for every day of the week. It does come with a pretty hefty price tag at $698 – $725. As such, this boot is not for the frugal-fashionista. But, it is a timeless piece that can be worn for years to come.  It’s definitely suited to a slimmer calf, but due to the stretch panel in the back can be worn by a more athletic calf as well.

These are available at Holt Renfrew and at Stuart Weitzman stores.

When I first saw how similar this boot is to the classic and iconic 5050s, I could barely believe my eyes – and at under $100-150, how can you go wrong? Although this boot doesn’t come in as many colours and finishes as the 5050s, the ‘Riley’ boot does have the classic colours (i.e. black and cognac), and, as a bonus, isn’t synthetic!

Available online from Chinese Laundry and via Nordstrom – which does ship to Vancouver!

The Mid-Heeled Boot

Splurge: Sam Edelman ‘Fae’ Boot

I’m a huge huge fan of Sam Edelman footwear. The quality and comfort are pretty amazing, even with the highest of heels – and this boot is no exception. The ‘Fae’ boot meets every item on my boot checklist: it is comfortable, made of quality materials, has a stacked heel (so that you can walk all day), features a touch of embellishment and it doesn’t totally break the bank. At under $400 they are definitely a piece that you can wear daily, and from this season to the next.

Available at Hudson’s Bay.

These beauties are the perfect weekend boot. The ‘Cylia’ boot has a slight heel and look totally amazing with jeans, skinny pants, or even a cute mini. The distressed look of the leather will remain looking great, even after wearing them in days of rain – or even a little snow! If you’re a person that walks everywhere, you will love the comfort of a low stacked heel – especially for weekend errands, or perhaps a mega shopping holiday. This boot comes in black and brown for $220.

The Suede Over-the-Knee Boot

This boot is everything. The minute you put the ‘Highland’ boot on, you have an extra bounce in your step. Over-the-knee boots are everywhere this season, and these Stuart Weitzman beauties have graced the feet (and legs) of many Hollywood A-listers and fashion “it”-girls. If you are looking for a boot to treat yourself to, I would highly recommend the ‘Highland’ boot!

These swoon-worthy beauties are available at Stuart Weitzman stores and online for just under $900.

Over the knee _Save_Sam Edelman Kayla Boot

Save: Sam Edelman ‘Kayla Suede Stiletto’

I have a major crush on this pretty pair. From the moment I saw them, although slightly impractical for everyday wear (in our rainy city, anyways), these are still totally gorgeous. From the boot’s rounded toe, to its cute tie in the back, they are perfect for everything from a night out with your girls, to brunch with your beau. At just under $400 they are a lot of style for the price, and definitely worth every penny.

The boot is available at Hudson’s Bay stores and online.

The Leather High-Heeled Boot

High Heel Leather_Splurge_Michael Kors Regina Boot

Splurge: Michael Kors Regina Boot

This boot is not for those that don’t like wearing high-heels. The boot does have a stacked heel that makes it quite comfortable for all-day wear, but it does feature a slightly higher heel than most – at just over 3.5” (90mm). The leather looks fabulous on this boot, and they are a definite must-have at well under $350 (a steal for the quality). The only downside is that they are a slip-on, which can be an issue at times. And, the suede version has more of a slouchy look.

Available at Michael Kors and at Browns.

Every season I always check Zara to see what they have for boots. They are always on-trend, and very budget friendly. What I love about this boot is that it looks and feels like very high end boots, but, at under $200, they won’t completely break the bank.

Available at Zara stores and online.
