Thousands waiting at Vancouver International Airport due to big computer glitch (PHOTOS)

UPDATE at 12:27 p.m. – The computer issue at Vancouver International Airport has been resolved. Some congestion should still be expected while the airport returns to normal operations.
EARLIER:
Long lines and crowds are growing in the check-in areas of Vancouver International Airport this morning. Thousands of people are currently waiting inside the terminal building for their flight.
According to YVR, the delays are due to a widespread technical glitch forcing most airlines to check in passengers manually.
The delays have been persistent for at least the last three hours. There is no indication of when the glitch will be resolved, but YVR says it is working diligently to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
The glitches are not related to the widespread power outages across much of Metro Vancouver today.
Travellers departing the airport today area highly advised to arrive early. Arrivals systems are not affected by the glitch.
