London Drugs Beauty Event 2014

Dec 19 2017, 11:00 am

I just want to start this post off with a huge, virtual slow clap for London Drugs and their phenomenal team! The event had everything from helicopters to fab DJ’s – it was unreal.

Our evening started out with a giant chopper that whisked us away from downtown to an airplane hanger in Richmond where the event was held.  Once we arrived at the venue we were off to explore the twenty-five brands that were showcasing their upcoming products for Fall 2014!

Featured Brands

Annabelle Mineral Fusion
Cargo NYX
Chella Philips
Conair Prestige Cosmetics
Essie Red Carpet Manicure
Garnier Revlon
Goody RoC
Got2b Sally Hansen
Home Skinovations St. Tropez
John Frieda Strivectin
Lise Watier Tweezerman

It’s hard to choose a favourite amongst these influential brands but the ones I were drawn to the most were Prestige Cosmetics, Mineral Fusion and Lise Watier.

Prestige Cosmetics is a US based brand that I haven’t heard a whole lot about and I’m not sure why – the pigment pay-off and versatility of their products is mind blowing. I saw ads showcasing their stunning artistry and B lined it for their booth! They truly are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to putting an edgy twist on classic looks. (This line is also GMO, Gluten and Paraben free!)

Mineral Fusion is another brand I was instantly drawn to – the whole line just has a timeless, earthy, clean feel about it – if that makes sense to anyone besides myself. Their sleek bronze packaging and easy to use products are a must have. Plus, their gluten free! Their lip tints were insanely hydrating and actually contain a firming peptide in them which will have your lippies looking soft and pouty, and who doesn’t want that?

Lastly, Lise Watier. I’ve been a lover of this line for a long time now and they always surprise me with their new additions and innovations. They somehow find a balance between trendy, chic and classic – I’m seriously obsessed.  I almost died when I found out they’re coming out with a Feline (felt-tip, liquid) liner in brown this August! All in all, you can’t go wrong with this line.

The event was every product junkies’ dream, from sipping on lychee martinis while getting my makeup done to getting my faux tan on! I could go on and on about every booth I stopped at but I’ll save you all the reading and will tweet my thoughts on them all throughout the week instead.

Until next time, your friendly, neighbourhood beauty addict!
