Dec 19 2017, 1:11 pm

If you have children aged nine and under, then you’ll want to drop down to VanDusen Botanical Garden between 5 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 29th for the first annual Little Spooks & Friendly Ghosts event. The event, ‘brought to life’ by Public Dreams (the same people who created the Trout Lake Lantern Festival and the Parade of Lost Souls), includes some gently scary fun sure to delight the little ones.

Play Giant Jenga – a fun and interactive games that involved seven foot tall pieces made from lightweight packing foam. Or learn to juggle from one of Public Dream’s expert circus performers. There’ll be crafts in the Glasshouse – make your own spooky wind catchers. Public Dreams’ iconic stilt characters, appropriately attired in spooky costume, will be wandering the site which will be decorated with Jack O’Lanterns created at the Pumpkin Carving Workshop on October 27th. ( information on Pumpkin Carving) . Shaughnessy Restaurant will be serving up plenty of hot chocolate and warm cider to chase the chill away.

Tickets are available in advance at the Garden Shop or on the day at the Garden Entrance. Special prices in effect:

  • Adults (19-65)$7.50
  • Seniors (65+) $5.50
  • Child (3-18) $5.25
  • Family (2 adults + 2 children) $16.00
