Comedy’s lovable “Queen of Mean,” Lisa Lampanelli will be bringing her hilarious insult comedy to the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver on Saturday, October 25.
Unapologetic in her approach to comedy, Lampanelli is as crude, raw, witty and hysterically funny as any comedian today. Being described as an “equal opportunity” offender by The New York Times, Lampanelli isn’t afraid to says things most people won’t dare think.
Her rise to the top of the comedy food chain began in 2002 when she was the only female comedian invited to skewer Chevy Chase on Comedy Central Presents: The NY Friars Club Roast. She went on to become an audience favourite on the network’s highly rated roasts of such celebrities as Jeff Foxworthy, Pamela Anderson, William Shatner, David Hasselhoff and Donald Trump.
Lampanelli famously said during her roast of Betty White, “Betty White is so old, that on her first game show ever, the prize was fire.”
Lampanelli’s one-hour special, Take It Like a Man premiered on Comedy Central in 2005 and was a ratings hit—one reviewer saying, “I almost can’t put in words how funny she is. She takes insult comedy to the next level. She makes Triumph ‘the insult comic dog’ look like Wayne Brady.”
Her follow-up special, Dirty Girl which was later released on Warner Bros. Records was equally praised. The album reached #4 on the charts and Lampanelli was also nominated for a Grammy Award for 2007’s “Best Comedy Album of the Year.”
Her feature film appearances include Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector, Delta Farce and The Aristocrats.
In 2012, Lampanelli finished in the final four on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice raising over $100,000 for her charity.
