ORIGINAL STORY: Travellers driving between the North Shore and areas south of Burrard Inlet in Metro Vancouver should avoid the Lions Gate Bridge this evening, as it is currently closed in both directions.

Drive BC confirmed the closure and is advising drivers to use an alternate route or stay off the roads tonight.

A snowfall warning is currently in effect for the Metro Vancouver region.

“A quick 10 cm of accumulation is expected this evening before snow eases overnight,” said Environment Canada in a statement.

“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.”
