UPDATE: Lions Gate Bridge traffic has reopened, however, expect more congestion than usual due to volume buildup from the closure earlier.

A motor vehicle accident has shut down Lions Gate Bridge in both directions, according to a tweet from Translink.

Initial reports of an accident in the right lane going north bound came in at approximately 2 p.m. today. Four vehicles are said to have been involved with the collision.
It does not appear that the accident has anything to do with the temporary speed bump located on the north end of the bridge.

AM730 later reported that there was single-lane alternating traffic; however more recent sources claim the bridge is blocked both ways.
Moments ago, a woman by the name of Moneca Yardley posted a photo on Facebook and Twitter claiming to be part of the accident.
