Lime & Moon Pie Company, a small-batch bakehouse, hailing from Bowen Island on B.C’s West Coast, has plans to open in Yaletown this September.

Having secured a fixed address at 1066 Mainland Street, the tiny storefront (formerly occupied by Divine Vines a boutique florist), will contain a fully functioning bakery complete with an espresso machine and a ‘Pie-bar’. Everything will be hand-made, from scratch on site.

Chris and Stanislava Oben, owners of the pie-driven, all-organic bakery say, “we are very excited to have Dallas Matson and Tetherstone Construction as the lead designer for this very small shop. Dallas has an amazing track record as the builder of four of the top ten coffee shops in Vancouver, including Revolver, Matchstick and 49th Parallel”.

“Continuing our ‘always organic’ approach, our menu will feature sweet and savoury pies, including Lemon-Lime Meringue, Sinfully Sweet Peach, Strawberry Rhubarb Fields Forever, Blueberry Patch and the French-Canadian classic Tourtière. There will be some more adventurous weekly options like Strawberry-Basil Pie. Our daily menu will include wonderful vegan, gluten-free and raw pie options too”.

On the beverage side of the menu Lime & Moon Pie Company will feature a variety of ice-blended and cold-pressed juices, in addition to espresso based drinks. Signature drinks will include Agua Fresca (made with lime, cucumber, celery, apples and mint), and the popular ice-blended drink Lime and Moon Coconut Dream (made with organic coconut milk, lime, and yogurt).

Scheduled to open mid to late September, Lime & Moon Pie Company’s hours will likely be mid-morning until late. Stay tuned to the bakery’s social media pages for further information.
