Lil Nas X drops out of UBC’s Welcome Back BBQ

Students at the University of British Columbia hoping to head back to class via the Old Town Road this week will encounter an unexpected detour, as the highly-anticipated performance by Lil Nas X at this year’s UBC’s annual Welcome Back BBQ is no longer a go.
According to event organizers, the rapper “has opted to cancel all Canadian performances this month” – including the one at UBC – “due to circumstances beyond our control.”
However, they add, ” the show must go on.”
As such, the new lineup is as follows:
- LIL MOSEY
- A$AP FERG
- WHAT SO NOT
- MURDA BEATZ
- BOSLEN
- MGH
The event takes place this Friday, September 13, beginning at 4 pm and running until 9:30 pm.
Taking place just outside of The Nest, the event features an outdoor stage, 19+ beer garden, and plenty of room to show off the new dance moves you learned over the summer.
