Meeting people in Vancouver is notoriously hard, but it can be even harder when you’re a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

Vancouver Queer Climbers
Van Queer Climbers says it envisions a future in which 2SLGBTQIA+ people are included, represented, and overtly welcomed into all climbing spaces, and that’s why the group offers meet-ups, mentorships, and excursions in hopes of creating positive change. Plus, drop-in rates are reduced for members!

Vancouver’s Cutting Edges
The Cutting Edges aim to create a friendly, fun environment for gay hockey players and anyone else who shares their love of hockey and wishes to participate.

Vancouver Frontrunners
Vancouver Frontrunners was founded in 1983 and is one of Vancouver’s longest-running 2SLGBTQIA+ sporting groups. With over 150 members in the Metro area, it’s also one of the largest. The group meets twice a week to take part in races, fundraisers, and sporting competitions — rain or shine.

English Bay Swim Club
The English Bay Swim Club aims to create a positive, inclusive space for LGBTQ people, especially trans and gender-variant people. In addition to competing, the club regularly holds social events around town.

The Vancouver Gay Volleyball Association
Fun is on the court when you play with the Vancouver Gay Volleyball Association, a longstanding non-profit in BC. While the inclusive environment is focussed on a gay-positive atmosphere, this isn’t just a casual league if you are a competitive player. There are lots of division options, from drop-in to competitive, for more advanced volleyball enthusiasts.

Absolutely Badminton
New to badminton or a fierce longtime player? Either way, this group promises you will find a place within it as it holds weekly games, events, and more to help everyone have fun and be included. The costs are about $10 per drop-in.

This group meets monthly to participate in events and then grab beers afterwards.

Canadian Aviation Pride – Vancouver
This group is a way for LGBTQ+ aviators to connect and socialize. Members across the country gather for aircraft factory tours, career expos, air shows, hikes, pub nights, outreach, and education.
