The Vancouver Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a caucasian male who attacked a lesbian couple on September 18.
According to police reports, the incident began at 5:15 p.m. when a man boarded a #135 SFU/Burrard Station bus at East Hastings Street and Kensington Avenue in Burnaby.
Just after 6 p.m., two women boarded the bus at East Hastings and Renfrew Streets in Vancouver and exchanged a kiss, which appeared to have disturbed the man based on CCTV footage.
At East Hastings Street and Commercial Drive, the two women exited the bus and were followed by the man. Shortly after, without any provocation, the man confronted and assaulted the two females. One woman was also punched in the face.
The suspect fled after he was chased off by other people who came to assist the women. Police responded to the incident immediately but were unable to locate the man after a thorough search of the area.
To this day, the suspect has yet to be identified. He is a Caucasian male, 35 to 40 years old, 6-feet tall, 220 pounds and at the time had short black, grey hair and a facial stubble.
If anyone has information on the identity and whereabouts of the male, they are asked to contact the Vancouver Police at (604) 717-3321.
