The Lego Movie will be having a sequel, and the Australian-based visual effects studio that produced it will be moving to Vancouver to produce it.

Animal Logic signed a deal with Warner Bros. Pictures for the production of three animated features, and to oversee them, they will be setting up a second animation studio in Vancouver.

The studio will be opening its doors in September and is expected to create 300 jobs in the animation and effects industry. Production of the Lego Movie sequel will begin January 2016. The animated film is currently expected to come out in 2018.

“We are excited to be taking our collaboration to the next level on the production of a terrific slate of films in Vancouver,” said Zareh Nalbandian, CEO and co-founder of Animal Logic in a press release.

The studio’s Sydney-based headquarters will oversee the recently announced productions of LEGO Batman, Ninjago and another unnamed film that is scheduled to follow.
