David Chang and Seth Rogen love them, and the rest of us do too — Lee’s Donuts is certainly a household name for treat lovers in Vancouver.

That being said, we’ve got some important news to share to ensure no one heads down to the Granville Island Public Market after February 3, because the OG doughnut maker will be closing for several weeks for renovations.

Lee’s didn’t reveal exactly what’s happening with the renos, but the team did say the changes were “exciting” and they urged folks to head down and get their fill of treats before Monday.

Lee’s is a staple in Vancouver’s doughnut scene and has been operating in the Granville Island Public Market since 1979. The maker sticks to the classics when it comes to doughnuts like their honey, chocolate glazed, and sugar rolled. Their apple fritter is as big as your hand and only $4.

In the meantime, there are some amazing local doughnuts spots you can head to scattered around town, along with a brand new Chinatown sweet spot worth checking out.
