Learn Something New: Fall Courses at VSB Continuing Education

Always wanted to learn guitar or Spanish? Perhaps you need some tips for your puppy on obedience or a course in website design? Ever thought it would be a good idea to learn to cook, take better photos, or fix up your home? Or maybe you just want to meet new people and have fun?

The Vancouver School Board’s Continuing Education programs are open to the public and its evening and weekend classes feature everything from acting to writing, business to woodworking, computers to sewing and drawing to sports.

Whether the 300+ offerings are for professional advancement or personal enjoyment, these classes are a fun and inexpensive way to spend a day, or a few weeks, learning something new.

The small class sizes, expert instruction, and great facilities make the VSB Continuing Education courses worth exploring.

Or learn in Cantonese or Mandarin. VSB Continuing Ed offers 20 courses that are taught in Chinese.

Win an Art Class or Culinary Adventure from VSB Continuing Education

Are you looking for a way to meet new people, learn a skill or just have fun? If so, Vancouver School Board’s Continuing Education program is giving away one free registration in a visual art class for adults on Oct 20, and another free registration to one of their culinary arts classes on Oct 24.

Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain helps artists see the world anew. Great for beginners or intermediate artists, this 1-day course runs on October 20 from 9 am to 4 pm at John Oliver, 530 E. 41st Ave. Value $79

A Trip to Little India with Chef Tahera on the evening of October 24 from 6:15 to 9:45 pm includes lessons on turning an ordinary meal into exotic Indian fare and dinner in one of Little India’s restaurants. Meetup time is 6:15 pm at Punjab Foods, 6635 Main Street (Main @50th). Value $69
