How you can visit this enchanting Chinese lantern festival - for free
Vancouver is getting ready to host one of the most spectacular light festivals of the year – Le Homes: Lanterns In The Garden.
Taking place at the city’s Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden for three magical weekends starting Friday, February 16, this is one event that you really don’t want to miss.
Inspired by ancient Chinese folktales, the mythical display is set to transform the downtown garden into a land of fantasies and dreams, with an abundance of beautifully-themed lanterns, delicious food, and eclectic activities.
There’s going to be a food yard filled with delicacies that will give you a taste of Yuanxiao. Roasted chestnuts, pork buns, Chinese-style pancakes, and rice balls with sweet fillings inside are just some of the tasty treats that you’ll find on the menu. Live performances including opera, instrumentals, and dancing by local and Chinese artists, will keep you entertained as you saunter around the garden.
