All the epic eats to try during Vancouver's week-long burger festival

This year Le Burger Week Vancouver will run from September 1 to September 7, so block off your calendar and get out those stretchy pants.

This annual event has been operating since 2012 when the inaugural week went down in Montreal. Now, Le Burger Week has events across Canada, in Haiti, and some US cities as well.

This year there are nine Vancouver eateries competing for the title of their city’s best burger. The winning creation is typically offered at a special “burger price” for the public to taste and cast their votes on leburgerweek.com.

There will be winning burgers in several categories including People’s Choice, Most Creative, and Healthiest Burger. The celebration also sends undercover tasters all over the country to choose which creation will earn the Judges’ Choice title.

The Canadian Brewhouse & Grill: Taco Burger

Description: Taco-seasoned beef burger with spicy jalapeño cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato, guacamole, salsa, sour cream and crunchy Doritos. This is all served on a fresh brioche bun with your choice of golden fries, rice or side salad.

Fable Diner: Chimichurri Burger

Description: Two local grass-fed beef patties, aged white cheddar, crisp red onions, cucumber, lettuce, and chimichurri mayonnaise.

Pourhouse: Pourhouse Burger

Description: Homemade ground chuck and brisket topped with Pork Belly, Caramelized Onion and Cheddar (option to add fried egg). Served with French fries with homemade ketchup.

Rosemary Rocksalt: Bagel Burger aka “The BB”

Description: Montreal smoked meat, with cheddar, lettuce, tomato and pickles. Plus ketchup, mustard and mayo with a crispy hash brown Patty in the middle. Served on your choice of hand rolled, fire baked Montreal style bagel.

Description: Two seared Cache Creek Organic beef patties, American cheese, HP mayo, deep fried pickles, rosemary bacon, onion rings, on their signature milk bun.

Romer’s: Ultimate Kobe Classic

Description: Classic handcrafted local organic beef patty infused with premium ground Kobe, melted sharp horseradish jack cheddar and sautéed Portobello mushrooms. The fresh-baked Brioche bun is painted with house-made truffle oil aioli and grainy mustard sauce and met with crisp microgreens and sliced tomato. The now towering dish is topped with crispy onion strings for texture and paired with a dish of Red Wine Demi-Glace.

Description: A 6oz fresh pressed burger patty, blackened and topped with a skirt of shredded cheddar cheese, fried onions and Bacon, served on a Tuxedo bun.

Description: Fresh hand pressed 100% beef patty served on a brioche bun with Nduja, Parmesan crisps, balsamic glazed onions and a homemade basil aioli. Served with fresh cut fries or salad.

Chop Steakhouse & Bar: Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) Burger

Description: Korean-fried chicken breast brushed in a delicious Gochujang sauce. Served with kimchi aioli, house-made slaw, chili peppers, and topped off with a pickle spear.
