The third annual Inspirational Latin Award Ceremony will be happening today, Wednesday, July 2. Make sure to grab a cocktail and meet some of the Latin movers and shakers of the Vancouver community.
With all the Latin World Cup frenzy happening across the globe, the timing couldn’t be better for you to connect with people whose communities are being directly affected with this global spectacle. I was in attendance last year and was delighted to meet some Latin people doing some really impressive things around the community.
What many locals tend to forget or not be aware about, is that immigrating to Vancouver is a very tough thing, especially for the Latin community. Cultures are quite different and the cost of living here is a big shock. On top of that, many educational and professional certifications aren’t transferable so many people quite literally need to start from scratch – you’ve got to give the ones who thrive in Vancouver extra credit.
