A huge Latin American festival is returning to Vancouver for its 17th year running!

Over three action-packed days, from July 11 to July 13, Carnaval del Sol is set to take over Jonathan Rogers Park for a celebration of Latin culture, music, food, and community.

Get ready for a non-stop fiesta filled with live performances, fun activities, and flavour-packed eats — with each corner of the festival offering something vibrant and unforgettable.

Discover themed plazas

Explore the festival through a series of plazas, each designed to showcase a different part of Latin American culture.

At the Food Plaza, indulge in traditional and modern dishes from over 15 Latin American countries, including Argentine empanadas, Mexican tacos, Peruvian ceviche, Brazilian feijoada, and more. You can also expect chef demonstrations and signature drinks – and a Beer Plaza featuring local craft brews and Latin-inspired sips from Granville Island Brewing and Sol.

Play some fĂştbol over at the Sports Plaza, and watch live mini-tournaments, soccer skills demonstrations, and community team showdowns.

The heart of the action will be at Plaza del Sol, the festival’s main stage, which will feature over 280 live shows from local and international Latin music artists, high-energy dance troupes, cultural exhibitions, and even some special guest appearances!

Fun for the whole family

The fun doesn’t stop there! Carnaval del Sol is a full family day out. There will be dedicated areas for families, kids, and seniors, plus a market packed with handcrafted jewelry, clothing, and artwork that celebrate Latin artisans.

This year, Carnaval del Sol will also be including Filipino vendors and performers as a  tribute to the victims of the Lapu-Lapu tragedy in Vancouver, celebrating shared cultural values through music, food, and unity.

General admission tickets start at $12, or you can purchase multi-day tickets with VIP options available. Entrance is free for children under 12, and seniors aged over 65.

Head on over to Carnaval del Sol’s official website for the full three day lineup or to purchase tickets now. This is one summer celebration you won’t want to miss!
