A large sinkhole formed on the 4800 block of Albert Street in Burnaby, leading to a road closure between Delta and Gamma avenues.
Photos posted onto social media indicate the long, trench-like sinkhole running through the middle of the road is several feet deep. The sinkhole was first reported Monday evening.
An extensive amount of infrastructure work was completed in the area over the last few years. Crews with the regional district will investigate the cause and begin road repairs this morning.
