Langley manor with secret safe rooms sees numerous listings and over $16M shaved off original asking price

A European-inspired manor located in Langley, which was first listed for sale in 2024, has seen numerous price drops without a buyer.

According to the listing history of Tannin Manor on Zealty, the massive estate at 6124 272 St., which features 28 acres of land and a 15,013 sq. ft. home, was first listed in February 2024 for a whopping $35 million.

Since then, there have been six listings, including the most recent one from earlier this week, with a reduced price of $18,888,000. The current assessed value is much lower than the asking price, at $5,165,085, due to its farm land designation.

Before the current listing, the property was last listed in November 2025 for $22,800,000. After that listing expired this February, it stayed off the market until the current listing went up this week.

“Behind the exorbitant gates sits a reflective pool, reflecting the main residence,” the listing says.

The home features seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms that the listing says were constructed “exquisitely.”

The home features some interesting touches, including what the listing calls an entertainer’s kitchen, a cave-like wine cellar, secret safe rooms, and “much more.”

“Tannin Manor is a compound built to an unparalleled standard that will last generations,” the listing says.

It’s an interesting time to try to sell a property like this, due to how tumultuous the housing market is.

“Several distinct buying and selling trends are emerging across the housing market. First-time homebuyers are focused on value and the long-term benefits of homeownership, with location playing a key role—particularly proximity to public transit,” Re/Max said in a 2026 real estate forecast.

While the Langley manor isn’t close to transit, it is just a short drive to the popular Fort Langley neighbourhood and to Abbotsford International Airport.

“Entry-level, lower-priced and homes with suites remain in strong demand, favouring sellers, while higher-end and luxury properties see more inventory relative to buyers, giving them an advantage,” Re/Max said.

A more recent housing report shed light on the fact that the market is forcing more Canadians to co-sign mortgages with their parents.

According to the Bank of Canada, if parents had not co-signed their adult kids’ mortgages, 74 per cent of those homebuyers would not have qualified for their current mortgage.
