Ladurée setting up shop on Robson Street

Ladurée is considered the “it” macaron, and the luxury baker has been in business in its native Paris since the 19th century.

Now it seems rumours of a Canadian expansion are proving true: It sure looks like that’s Ladurée moving into a storefront on Vancouver’s Robson Street, between Thurlow and Bute.

Signage bearing Ladurée’s name and iconic pale green background was unveiled today at the location between a Telus store and Steve Madden, and passers-by are buzzing already.

Hey @maisonladuree, is that you? #laduree #paris #macarons #vancouver #robsonstreet #vsco #vscocam

Ladurée is best known for their exquisite macaron, as well as their other high-end and sought-after pastries and treats. Though they have been wildly popular in Paris for decades, the brand didn’t bring its boutiques to the United States until 2011.

We’ve reached out to Ladurée for more information about the shop.
