Lacoste opens Canadian concept store in Metro Vancouver

After a highly-anticipated wait, the Parisian brand Lacoste has opened its third concept boutique in Canada.

Known for producing simplistic styles, bold colours, clean lines, and of course, the famed crocodile logo, Lacoste’s new store is located at unit 2301, Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby.

The boutique mirrors the brand’s Toronto and Ottawa locations with a fresh concept and sophisticated design which was inspired by the inside of a tennis locker. This, of course, is a tribute to Lacoste’s heritage and founder René Lacoste, a tennis legend who reimagined the everyday wardrobe.

As well as this, the store’s innovative design has been constructed with a focus on customer experience.

Lacoste formerly had a store on Burrard Street which is now closed, however, the brand expects its new Metro Vancouver location to perform comparably to Toronto’s Yorkdale boutique which opened in June of last year.

In the next two to three years, the brand plans to launch a loyalty program in Canada, following a strong response from customers using the program in Europe.

“The new loyalty program is a way for us to maintain and build relationships with our customers while creating an exclusive and VIP experience for those that have been longtime friends of the brand,” says Grégoire Brasset, Lacoste Canada’s general manager.

In terms of opening a second location in Vancouver, the brand is taking a strategic approach.

“Our strategy is not to continuously open door after door, but to choose the right place, the right time, and most importantly, the right customer experience,” says Brasset.
