Labatt to buy B.C.'s Okanagan Cider, Turning Point Brewery and more

Dec 20 2017, 2:26 am

It sounds like a big guy scooping up the little guy, but in the case of the news that Labatt Breweries of Canada has agreed to purchase some items in the Mark Anthony Group’s brewing portfolio, it’s more like the really big guy is scooping up the kinda big guy.

In a deal reportedly worth $350 million USD, Labatt–who already has over 60 beers in their roster–will be purchasing Okanagan Cider, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Palm Bay, and Turning Point Brewery (they make Stanley Park Beer), according to the Canadian Press (via News 1130).

However, the Mark Anthony Group will hang onto a couple of key portions of their business: U.S. operations, and importing and distributing in Canada.
